Creating Reality with Our Beliefs

Matt Maruca here.

I hope you're having a great day.

I'd like to tell you about a really amazing experience that I just had.

I just finished a week-long meditation retreat with Dr. Joe Dispenza. He is one of my favorite teachers, and one of the leading experts in the  world on the science of the mind-body connection and the impact of changing our brain with practices like meditation.

The best way that I can summarize the general ideas is as follows:

Think about yourself. Then, zoom out and think about all of planet earth. From the view of ourself, we think we are separate from other things, but from the view of the earth it looks like we are just one cell within the human species and even within the entire organism of life.

We are like a single grain of sand on the beach. Usually when we speak about the beach we talk about the beach, not about every single grain of sand.

If we zoom out even further you can see the entire Milky Way galaxy. And if you go out even further you can see our collection of galaxies. A little bit further and you could see the entire universe in its infinite glory.

The further out we zoom, we can realize that everything we see is part of one. In other words, everything is deeply interconnected. What this means for us humans having this very real experience of life is that our senses lead us to believe that we are separate, when in fact we are absolutely connected to everything. Since we are already connected to everything, this means that we are entirely whole as living beings.

Sure, we may need to eat and drink and have shelter and some community to stay alive and stay well, but we are already completely whole. Even when we die, we are still completely whole.

When we totally trust our senses, and specifically the idea that we are not whole, we are incomplete, and we need something outside of us to become complete, immediately we make this true, because our thoughts are our reality. In fact, we are whole.

If you have a positive and a negative charge together, you have balance. Once you pull them apart, you now have a polarity; they are separate and they want to come back together. In the same way, as beings that are already whole, whenever we have the thought that we are not whole and we need something outside of us to become whole, we separate positive and negative and create a polarity in our life. We can come to feel that we are not whole in that situation, because of the way we are thinking, which creates the way we feel.

If we have made the decision that we are not whole (thought), and we are not feeling whole as a result (feeling), or the opposite: we are not feeling whole, so we are thinking that we are not whole (it is the same effect either way), then even if we achieve an outcome that we are striving for in this realm called earth, if we don't also correct the feeling and the thought that we are not whole, that outcome, accomplishment, etc., will never make us feel whole. (Consider people who keep buying new things like cars and houses but never feel wholeness or happiness, or yourself when thinking that just having a little more money would make your life so much better, but coming from a place of lack.)

Another way to say this is: as a kid I was feeling scarcity about money and felt like I needed to prove myself, so eventually this led me to starting a business, after years of already trying to heal myself with diets and various other health protocols. I also started my business because I wanted to help people heal and inspire people, but there is a light and dark side, Yin and the Yang to most things in life.

Even after building my business is something that is changing tens of thousands of lives, helping people heal and transform their sleep, and allowing me to have the business success that I was going for, I never came to feel fully whole, because I never overcame the belief (thought) and the emotions (feeling) that were ultimately what I was trying to overcome by building a business.

In other words, life is entirely energy. Everything that we see and feel in this world is just a physical manifestation of energy. I learned this many years ago when I was reading the book "The Body Electric" by Dr. Robert O. Becker.

So, if we work really hard in the world of matter, the world we see and feel with our senses, we can create something that we think we want.

However, if we do not overcome the limited beliefs and emotions in the world of energy, which is where everything actually exists and creates reality, we could be the most successful person in the world and feel totally empty.

There's a quote from the Bible that demonstrates this in a very interesting way. It is:

"You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:27-28)

I think what Jesus was expressing in this quote is exactly what I'm trying to express to you here. If someone looks at a woman lustfully, he has already committed a sin in his heart, because this is the energy present. Given the actual chance, the man would probably commit a sinful act, because his energy is already set a certain way. The energy is the prerequisite behind and driver of everything in our lives, not our actions.

In a similar way, someone who gives just for the sake of giving, because they feel abundant, has the reward of feeling amazing and abundant. Someone who gives because they feel like they have to or it's the right thing to do, but feels empty inside, may continue to feel empty inside regardless of how much they give, unless they change their energy and open their heart.

How we think and how we feel ultimately predicts what we will create and manifest in our daily life.

With my business, I thought that achieving success in the world of matter (the world we see and perceive with our 5 senses) would lead me to feel successful on the inside. But when I finally did it, I felt more empty than when I started.

Ultimately what I learned is that I was not looking for any success in the outside world; all I ever wanted was to feel whole, and that this is not accomplished by doing anything in the outside world, but by sitting through the fire of our past emotions so that we can realize who we really are: oneness with everything, fully perfect and divine in nature.

Many of us would prefer to just let life take its course and so it takes many decades to gain wisdom, and this change only happens with death, disease, or some other type of tragedy that forces us to face our emotions and overcomes them.

However, with this deeper understanding, we can choose to use practices like meditation to slow down our brain waves out of everything we think we know in this realm, and drop into our subconscious mind, where we can begin to see, reevaluate, and reprogram all of our subconscious beliefs. We can literally live in heaven on earth if we are willing to sit through the fire and let go of everything we think we know and are to become everything that we actually are. However, this is very hard to do, because it requires just letting go of everything we think we are.

In fact, the old beliefs and emotions that we are most attached to (in my case, it was success in business), or the very beliefs and emotions that create the most suffering in our lives, are the ones that need to be overcome the most, but are also the hardest to overcome.

If you're interested in learning more, I would highly recommend checking out Dr. Joe Dispenza's is work, and especially starting out with his online intensive and progressive workshops to get an understanding of all of these ideas. Or, you can read some of his books. All of these are linked below

I share this because it's very important to me and has given me the understanding and opportunity to completely transform my life and build a life that I want to live, and am totally excited about, and I know that it can do the same for you.

Just to be clear, this journey is not for the faint of heart. It is for those who are interested in becoming their best selves and shortening the time between cause (a desire to feel whole or something else) and effect (actually feeling that way).

The most amazing part is that when we do this "work" to feel whole in our hearts, we no longer want all of the things that we think we want in the outer world, because we feel as though we already have them. This creates the conditions and circumstances for us to be able to actually receive them, because we have eliminated that positive and negative polarity that keeps us thinking and feeling that we are in separation and lack, so that even if the event occurs we will still feel the lack!

Throughout my journey I have also found that having a basis of good health makes it easier and more natural to change our beliefs and lives (but, we have to do both to truly heal). So, I recommend everyone reading try Ra Optics Screen and Sleep lenses if you haven't already, to really begin to improve your circadian rhythm and all of your body's natural functions.
